Strengths
- Very comfortable to use — most comfortable loupes I ever have used. Excellent light; the caries detection light somewhat useful.
- Very cool technology. The patients really thought it was high tech. It lived up to what the company says it can do. I feel a huge benefit was with visualizing old composite. I have to remove old composite and if it had fluorescence it was easy to remove. Having it on my head was very convenient. The quality of the frame, optics and lights are impressive. The crispness of field of vision makes it easy to remove caries infected enamel and dentin. I don't feel I overprepared the lesion. The medical field has used this technology for several years with great results.
- Makes it easier to help identify things like decay, bacteria, etc... for clinician/hygienist.

- Allows detection of composite, caries activity, calculus and so on.
- The use of this technology offers benefit and as an adjunct to our existing diagnostic tools. It’s really nice for removing bonded materials post ortho.
- Fantastic technology to help identify and diagnose and allow you to provide more precise caries detection and removal, preserve healthy enamel when removing composite aligner buttons, and identify excess resin cement after indirect restoration cementation.
- Demonstrated to the patient, especially those who are reluctant to believe diagnosis.
Weaknesses
- The field of view was a little smaller than my other loupes; a hassle to turn off room light for best experience when looking for caries; not so easy to see differences between active and inactive caries.
- The cost may be prohibitive for some. There is a learning curve but it is easy to get on board. The black rubber sidewalls don't work well. You need to be able to turn the lights off. They are a bit heavy. I prefer side frames that don't hinge. the weight is different than what I am used to.
- With the current technology, I'm not sure there are any weaknesses.

- Another piece of equipment, a little heavier than other lights.
- Weight and balance of the loupes and customer support.
- Only drawback was that the loupes were a little on the heavy side which may not be an issue depending upon the weight of your current loupes.
- Just took time to get used to them, but once a few under the belt, it was fine.
BOTTOM LINE
- Very comfortable loupes/frames/eye protection rubber; very good optics; I am not completely convinced about caries detection light.
- Nice technology — like it very much.
- I love the technology. It was great to see old composite restorations. The fluorescence works well. I will use these for the rest of my career.
- For someone needing to buy new loupes, this is a worthwhile purchase. If you are already set with eyewear, then I don't know if I would purchase it.

- A nice tool especially if the support from the company was behind it. More time to use would allow us to explore other uses.
- Fantastic technology that has multiple applications and delivers on helping to diagnose and see what you can’t see with traditional loupes. A step up in loupes technology.
- A good adjunct tool....a bit expensive for most but valuable in educating patients.
- With the entry fee being quite steep, you would have to build a marketing plan around the technology so patients will appreciate the lengths you will go to save healthy and intact tooth structure. It’s obvious REVEAL could be an important part of your minimally invasive mission. If you can save patients from requiring crowns, you can sell one-appointment dentistry without the strangling expense of a CAD/CAM system.
