Strengths
Allows patients to actually visualize the changes in the shape of the teeth "live". Starts the dialogue going with patients, who can design their own smiles and/or you can show them various versions. The lab Rx and email ability are important bonus features. Intuitive, very easy to learn. Relatively inexpensive (assuming you already have a tablet). Available on iPad's and Android tablets.
Weaknesses
If you don't have a tablet running iOS or Android OS, you're out of luck. Patients may prefer to see their own teeth rather than the generic version in the program. Additional features such as shades, monochromatic vs. polychromatic, and incisal translucencies would be nice.
BOTTOM LINE
Simple, very cool tool that virtually any staff member could use when discussing the type of smile a patient desires and it can even be turned over to the patient to create his/her own smile, but being able to import the patient's own smile using the built-in tablet camera and adding features would make it even more valuable.
