Dr. Laamanen received his D.D.S. from University of Turku Dental School, Finland and year 1988 his M.S. in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics and perio. He has worked at the University Central Hospital in Turku and Turku University Dental Clinic for nine years. Dr. Laamanen is the founder of his dental office “The Center for Modern Dentistry” in Turku and is now working full time in his three operatory practice which he created with his orthodontist wife Ulla.
Dr. Laamanen is today much involved with the CAD-CAM dentistry and 3-D planning of guided implant placement. His aim is to develop affordable method for single tooth replacement, everything done in house with milling and 3-D printing. Dr. Laamanen is lecturing today mainly in restorative and CAD-CAM dentistry.
Dr. Laamanen is targeting his dental treatment on long term quality of the treatment and how to avoid the clinical mistakes in everyday dentistry. He has been lecturing for years his lecture series: “Learning by Seeing”. He has been practicing for more than 25 years in the same location and he has a good overview of the successful treatment options as well as the bad ones among his many recall patients.
Dr. Laamanen is organizing every year a training day for the young dentists in his clinic. He is also training his young staff to be ready to take over the dental clinic to give him more time for research and writing.
