Strengths
- Packaging and new presentation to patient.
- Easy to use and no impressions for custom trays.
- Ease of use. Inexpensive. No chair time. Works well.

- A great option as a quick, low cost, whitening system that gets results.
- Inexpensive and can be a great way to open the door with patients. If they are happy...great. If they want more, then we can go to the custom trays.

Weaknesses
- Bulkier than custom trays.
- Irritation of tissue. Some sensitivity.
- Tooth and gingival sensitivity as well as the viscosity being too thick.
- Can cause sensitivity for patients who tend to have generalized sensitivity and cementum hypersensitivity.
- With these trays, there seems to be less gel or there is a feeling of less gel. I would guess that some uses might like the gel feeling just to know that things were "working".
- None that I can think of. I'm not a huge bleaching fan because no matter what you tell people they seem to have these "grand" expectations, and rarely are they met.
- Poor mouth feel upon removal, trays are uncomfortable at times.
- More tissue trauma from the 15%.
- Obviously, this cannot be compared to the benefits of custom fabricated trays.

- I noticed slightly more gingival irritation in my patients.

BOTTOM LINE

- Very nice product. Works as good as custom trays. 95% of all our whitening are accomplished with these trays. We switched from Go Trays. We guarantee they work or your money back.

- Great product to keep stocked for patients looking for a quick take home whitening solution who want to whiten but don’t want to invest in a more custom whitening tray system. Occasional sensitivity can be expected for those patients who tend to have cementum hypersensitivity or sensitive teeth to begin with.

- Not as comfortable as White Strips.
- Good improvement in technology but the 15% may be too strong for many patients.
- Opalescence Home Advanced performs for what it is. My overall rating is based upon what it offers as a stock tray system and not compared to office made custom trays.
- Would definitely want to use it on my sensitive patients that don't like White Strips.
